This day shines a spotlight on disability issues, advocates for inclusion, and emphasizes the importance of integrating people with disabilities into all aspects of society. The History and Goals of IDPWD

First proclaimed in 1992, according to UN.org, IDPWD seeks to advance understanding of disability issues and promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities across the globe. This observance also underscores the benefits of including people with disabilities in economic, political, and cultural life, emphasizing that diversity enriches communities and fosters innovation. The theme for 2024, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” highlights the critical role of empowering individuals with disabilities to lead and shape a more equitable world​.

Amplify’s Role in Supporting People with Disabilities

As a local manufacturer and fulfillment center, we aim to provide individuals with disabilities opportunities to grow their skills, earn a living, and thrive in a supportive environment. Amplify operates a competitive packaging and assembly plant and a secure document destruction business. Through these initiatives, we serve over 150 clients weekly and have placed more than 500 individuals in community jobs since our inception in 1980. By fostering professional growth and championing the potential of individuals with disabilities, Amplify aligns with the core values of IDPWD​
